2014 has been QUITE the year. For me, 2014 has been all about growth and change! Between shooting over 160 sessions, home and life changes, watching some of my best friends get married and engaged….and gosh, SO much more…. I wanted to spend a little time recapping this incredible year.
My year started with getting stuck in Las Vegas due to the Polar Vortex… not the WORST place I could be stuck! 😉 More importantly, I may or may not have clanked glasses with Kristin Chenoweth at Midnight on NYE 2014…NBD
When I finally made it back home, the year took off in a heavy sprint. In February, I joined forces with Meridian & Butler Magazine and have cherished shooting local families for their cover stories (post to come soon).
March brought some fun creative projects and even a show at GPC! This month also brought great loss. Our sweet cat, Louie, passed suddenly and has forever changed the dynamic in our home. He was a HUGE personality! (yes, the fat joke was intended) I will be the first to admit that I am definitely a cat lady, but I think Louie impacted everyone he met. He was quite the guy.
By the time Spring rolled around, things were really in full swing with commercial projects for companies such as Nielsen, Liz Alig, Ackerman McQueen, Legacy Travel Club, M.H. Pomander’s, Sugar Creek Hops and more! One of the things I love most about my job is being able to work closely with families then switching gears to work with companies, large and small, to create work that fits or builds their brand. It keeps my creative toes moving constantly!
Spring also brought a new “baby” into our home. Our new addition, June, has definitely brought her challenges but there is nothing better than coming back from a long day of shooting to her excitement and love.
Fall arrived to bring a crazy, beautiful, and jam packed wedding and family session season. Between shooting some of my favorite people, new and old, we have been working vigorously to make our house feel more like a home. I love photographing people…but I have to say, I don’t think I love anything more than DIYing, decorating, and creating a space that is comfortable. Nesting has been a trying but wonderful experience.
Needless to say, 2014 has been a busy one. I am beyond thankful for everyone and everything that contributed to making it an incredible year. I cannot tell you how much I value the support of my family, friends, and clients. It truly means everything to me. THANK YOU!
… Anyway, 2014, thanks… but I am ready for an even better 2015 filled with more creativity, new faces, more me time, and loved ones.
To you and yours- Happy New Year!

A little glimpse at just a few of my favorites from 2014…. So many more that I just didn’t have time to get up!
